Yoga Tip Tuesday: Be Still.
Silence scares us.
Most of us avoid it like it’s dangerous. And that’s what our modern culture wants us to believe. We are constantly being sold distractions to keep us from being alone with ourselves (yes, I am aware this post is part of that machine...).
**The world is afraid that we will realize that we don’t need what it’s selling**
So it will do anything and everything in its power to keep us from stepping off the hamster wheel of busy-ness and stress!
If you commit to any resolutions at this time of year, let it be this one! Right now, I challenge you to turn off your screen, close your eyes and just focus on your breath for 5 minutes.
Don’t judge your thoughts. Acknowledge them and let them flow away on the river of your consciousness. Maybe you even want to lie down and really settle into your stillness.

Notice the internal spaciousness that starts to develop when you block out the noise. It feels like a wide open space, like standing at the edge of the endless ocean or looking out from a mountain vista. It’s a beautiful thing and that thing is you!
”You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” - Rumi
-Rage against the machine with silence.
I dare you.
